Current grants for FHO

The South Australian Government offers the First Home Owners Grant of $15,000 to get started with home ownership in SA when buying or building your brand new first home.

This amount can be used towards your deposit, fees, moving costs, furniture or for any good reason. It really depends on when you need it to when you apply for it. Most people will use it as required funds at settlement to make up the shortfall.

Almost everyone is eligible if they haven’t purchased a home previously, however, we will ensure that when we catch up we will let you know if you’re ok to apply for the grant.

The maximum property you can purchase must not exceed $575,000 however there are circumstances when building a new home where this can change that many people are not aware of.
